Insulated Dry-Lining Plasterboard
To thermally upgrade solid and cavity masonry or timber frame walls internally where there is sufficient space to create a cavity between the insulation board and the dry lining (see fig. 1). This technique features a simple method of vapour sealing, using aluminium foil adhesive tape at all joints and creates a cavity on the warm side of the insulation, which may be used for cabling and other services.
Fixing details
- Ensure that existing walls are permeable. Strip any gloss paint or vinyl wallpaper.
- Cut to fit each Seconds board, which is supplied 1200 x 2400mm, to the height of the room - floor to ceiling.
- Fix each board vertically to the wall, initially by means of a timber batten located vertically at the centre line of each sheet (see fig. 2 [1]).
- Seal all vertical board joints to create a vapour control layer, using an aluminium foil self-adhesive tape (see fig. 2 [2]).
- Add further vertical battens at appropriate spacings to provide adequate fixings for the selected dry lining system. Ensure that each additional batten coincides with lining board joints (see fig 2 [3]).

These are the bee's knee's insulation that Kingspan makes .I know another odd size but I can only follow what they put on the stock screen so what am I meant to do about it.These can be used in a variety of places you'll remember that Kooltherm gives you the same insulation value no matter what face is on it.Normal useage is underfloor or as an external insulation board prior to rendering.But between stud work or joists wouls be fine.If you've got a height problem with a floor you could use these as well.
